This concerns :
- administrators from October 15th
- sub-administrators from October 20th
- everyone from October 30th
On these dates the version 17.0 of CS licenses will be the new one in use. The 15.5 will be discontinued on October 15th for everyone. That means there's a transition period where only 16.0 version will be in use from October 15th to October 30th for everyone (until October 20th for sub-administrators).
The 17.0 version mainly includes a new possibility for non commercial licenses to create a commercial license.
This license can be created only if :
- there is no registration to a copyright service (mainly if the license is part of the Share-Alike or No Right family)
- the request is by an important group (companies...)
- if the current license is a BY-NC and derivatives type (BY-NC, BY-NC-SA, BY-NC-NA, BY-NC-NA-SA, BY-NC-NA-NR, BY-NC-ND, BY-NC-NA-ND)
- if in the case of a non commercial artist, the possible revenues don't come to the artist if they want it
- the use is controlled (credits, no use for harm etc)
The NR mention (No Right) is renamed into "No Registration" but the text content is exactly the same and the codes stay the same.
This new is valid from October 15th.
Note : remember that from October 15th, the 15.5 licenses will be discontinued and won't be accepted anymore on the licensing catalog. Thanks for your comprehension.
