This concerns :
- administrators from April 1st
- sub-administrators from April 10th
- everyone from April 16th
On these dates the version 16.0 of CS licenses will be the new one in use. The 15.0 will be discontinued on April 1st for everyone. That means there's a transition period where only 15.5 version will be in use from April 1st to April 16th for everyone (until April 10th for sub-administrators).
The 16.0 version has 4 main changes :
1) Author rights expiration
In previous versions, there wasn't any clear text about a possible expiration of author rights. The 16.0 will correct the problem : every work under this license will have an expiration date based on the shorter term.
Special cases : for all countries that don't apply this rule (this includes Brasil, Andorra, Armenia, Australia, China, Colombia, Cote d'Ivoire, Iceland, Indonesia, Lebanon, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Oman, Paraguay, Philippines, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Switzerland, Turkey, USA and Venezuela) the author rights expire only for these countries on the date projected by the law of the depending country.
2) The possibility to decide the concerned platforms for a "NA" license
This concerns all licenses with a No Advice mention.
In the previous versions the NA mention was used only if advices, comments and ratings were forbidden for all platforms. Now it will be possible to add which platforms are concerned. The text of human-readable summary will be updated.
3) The possibility to ask for an alternative license for "ND" mentions
This concerns all licenses with the No Derivative mention.
It will be possible in certain cases to ask for an alternative license of a work, depending of its license. However the applied license must have a "ND" mention. The internal text will be updated.
If you make another work from a such project, you may tell that the used license isn't the original and is an exception.
4) The impossibility to remove rights from an author
This concerns all licenses.
It is now explicitely impossible to remove the rights of use to one of the authors of the licensed work. This is due to a conflict between rights from the original authors and to other people authorized to use the project without the original author's permission.
(New form available in the following post.)
This new is valid from April 1st 2016.
Note : remember that from April 1st, the 15.0 licenses will be discontinued and won't be accepted anymore on the licensing catalog. Thanks for your comprehension.
